Smashed Sausage Burger

Pink Sausages are not just for BBQ. Smash them into a burger, and elevate the tasty game. We are serving them with some skin-on air fried fries.

List of Ingredients

2 Brioche Buns
2-4 slices Smoked Collar Bacon
4 (large) Pork n’ Beef Sausages
2 Gourmet Burgers
2 slices Cheddar
Burger Sauce (or Mayo)
Lettuce
1/2 Onion (thinly sliced)
Tomatoes (optional, thinly sliced)
BBQ Sauce
1/2 tsp Olive Oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the ingredients

Slice the onion and tomatoes (if using). Wash and prepare the lettuce. Remove the sausage meat from the casings.

2. Cook the bacon

Heat a pan over medium heat. Cook the bacon for 5–7 minutes until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels.

3. Cook the smashed sausage

In the same pan, add a little olive oil if needed. Place the sausage meat in the pan and press it down to “smash” it flat. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

4. Cook the burgers

In the same pan, cook the burger patties for 3–4 minutes per side. Place a slice of cheddar on each burger during the last minute to melt.

5. Toast the buns

Lightly toast the brioche buns in the pan for 1–2 minutes until golden.

6. Assemble the burger

Spread burger sauce or mayo on the bottom bun. Add lettuce, followed by the burger patty with melted cheese. Layer the smashed sausage on top. Add crispy bacon, onions, and tomatoes (if using). Drizzle with BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.

7. Serve

Serve immediately while hot and juicy. Optional: pair with fries or a fresh salad.
